Regional studies

This document sets out to summarise and compare the data and conclusions drawn by the five partner regions (Békés, Bologna, Lisbon, Roskilde and Veria) in their own regional reports, which have been drawn up to document the relevant regional conditions supporting the objectives of the LIGHT Operation, funded under the European Union InterregIIIC East programme.

Where appropriate, data is presented in tabular format to enable comparison between regions. In some cases data, of certain types is not equally or readily available across all of the participating regions: a blank space in any given table should therefore be taken to mean ‘data not available’.

The final two sections of the document depart from the principle of comparative tables by presenting respectively: SWOT analyses conducted by each region in relation to the objectives of the LIGHT Operation; and sequential assessments of the way in which t is expected that the pilot applications will contribute to development in each region.   

Each of the five regional partners in the LIGHT Operation is required by the workplan to produce a functional and a technical specification for the proposed cultural pilot application(s) in their region. This document provides guidance on how to approach this task

A functional specification describes how a product will work entirely from the user's perspective. It doesn't care how the thing is implemented. It talks about features. It specifies screens, menus, dialogues, and so on. This document is usually the responsibility of the client. The term Statement of Requirements (SOR) is also sometimes used, indicating a similar approach.It identifies the performance requirements (for equipment and services) or outputs (for services) or functionality (for software) that the project requires, and gives details of how these requirements, outputs or functions will be measured once a contract has been signed. While it is likely that these elements will be refined during the course of the tendering process, specification writers should ensure the details are as precise as possible so vendors are clear about the parameters of the project's needs.

This study intends to provide general information about Lisbon city in what concerns cultural environment, availability and accessibility to web based cultural resources about the city.
