TheVeriagrid.org is a platform based on digital cartography. This platform supports a vector map of Veria town organised by layers and linked to multimedia content (video, audio, photos, texts, panoramic images, flash objects). The content can be created by children or by experts and can target different sectors, such as cultural, education or tourism. For example, cultural objects (museums, libraries, sculptures, archaeological sites, city views, buildings) have been created by pre-set scenarios and linked to the vector map for locating in the real territory. The objects can be already retrievable on the flash based platform for a PC. The project developed a workshop with schools and other local cultural organizations and trained children to create routs and to develop cultural content for the city.
